Did you know that cutting your calories too much may sabotage your results?

Eating MORE while dieting may make keep your metabolism faster

⬇️⬇️⬇️

In a 2006 study, two groups underwent a calorie deficit:
- One group ate 1462 calories per day (let’s call this group, MODERATE)
- The other group ate 1114 calories per day (let’s call this group, EXTREME)

At the end, both groups had lost about 2% of their starting body weight (i.e. if someone started at 200 lbs - they were at 196 at the end. 🥳

*As a reminder: when we’re dieting, our bodies will always adapt by reducing the speed of our metabolism … in order to conserve energy (it’s an evolutionary thing… our bodies are preparing for famine lol)

But here’s what they observed besides weight loss: 👩‍💻

🚨 the metabolism of the EXTREME deficit group slowed by 13% and the metabolism of the MODERATE deficit group slowed by just 6% 😟😟

What does this mean FOR YOU?? You should eat the most you can while trying to lose weight. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Because although the two experiment groups lost about the same…

the EXTREME group saw a much bigger drop in their metabolism -> meaning that losing more weight would become harder because their body was burning fewer calories.

Not to mention - the group on the more restrictive diet didn’t actually see more weight loss! 🤯🤯🤯

THIS is why eating the MOST we can - while still losing weight - IS BEST for our fat loss results, our longterm health and our sanity!!🍋‍🟩🍎🍊🥝🥑🥕🍠🥔🥐
