After over a decade of thinking only about eating less, I was fed up sick of feeling stuck...
Every day, I walked a tightropeβ¦ I couldnβt enjoy a fun meal or a night out without a cloud of guilt. And worst of all? I was usually the person making me feel the worst;
βDonβt wear those jeans, your butt looks terribleβ
βUgh you definitely canβt wear a bikini this seasonβ
βNo wonder dating is hard for you, other girls are in such better shape!β
I could not handle another day. My anxiety and stress was a downward spiral, obsessing about food all day every day - and I wasnβt even getting me the results I wanted!
I had lost so much self-respect and trust in myself, as I tried and quit again and again, I couldnβt keep going like this.
So I decided to try something radical:
Eating more food.
Focusing on fewer habits.
Facing the inner mean girl in my brain.
I was amazed at how my body responded when I started to eat more in a way that suited MY body and MY goals.
Instead of following one more black and white diet with rules built by someone else⦠I went back to the drawing board and zoomed out.
What did I know *should* work to help me reach my goals AND what was I willing and able to actually commit to?
I lost 15 lbs AND felt like I had the confidence to keep it offβ¦ which Iβd never been able to do before. I was mystified. It actually worked.
It wasnβt just about βfreedomβ from counting macrosβ¦ it also came from rewiring my thoughts about food, so I could feel in control around food without feeling like I βshouldnβtβ enjoy it.
I could love food AND be a healthy, fit person, without giving up a fun and social life in the meantime. I felt like a unicorn.
With these lessons in mind, Eat More with Julia was born.
I show my clients how to make food feel simple by teaching them about macros and mindful eating, while we get that inner mean girl to STFU, so all-or-nothing thinking is no longer the reason you keep giving up (Because what you eat matters, but how you think about what you eat matters more)
