I Quit My Full Time Job
PS. This blog post is reshared from a Tuesday email series I share called On My Heart. I repost them to my blog a week later. If you’d like to receive it in your inbox instead, you can subscribe here.
I quit my full-time job.
If you didn’t know this - for the last 18 months, I’ve been side hustling with my Eat More with Julia business while working in tech sales by day.
I loved my company and career in tech, but I couldn’t help but wonder how much MORE I could be doing to serve my Eat More with Julia community if I had all the hours in the week, instead of just some of them.
After lots of planning and thinking and saving, my fiancé and I agreed it was time to take Eat More with Julia full time.
And say good-bye to the corporate comforts of my full-time job.
(Now, I could spend a whole other post talking about how I think entrepreneurship also gets WAY over-glamorized on the internet and how corporate America can be an AMAZING place to build your career and stay for good, but I’ll save that for another day - let me know if you’d like that perspective)
But between you and me, it wasn’t as easy as it sounds.
I had sleepless nights and feverish dreams. My anxiety (which already exists on a good day) rose even higher.
At 32 years old, I know how to thrive in a structured company environment. I excel when there are rules to follow and procedures given to me… but the freedom to create anything I want with Eat More with Julia? The options are endless and that can feel a bit unnerving. There’s as much room to succeed… as it feels there may be to fail.
But I kept coming back to why I started: to help women (like you!!) free themselves of mind drama around food, while building a body they feel truly proud of.
And the thing is, I can’t do that as fully with one foot in tech sales. I can only really FULLY do that by taking the scariest leap of my life into full-time entrepreneurship.
So I did it.
June 1 is my first day TOTALLY self-employed! EEK!!!
I cannot wait to take you on this journey with me.
I am so grateful you’re here and so grateful I get to serve you in this space!
A few other things you can expect this year:
A whole lot more capacity for more 1:1 clients (you can apply here if you’re curious and want to jump on a free discovery call to learn more)
Another round (or two!!) of the Health Accelerator (my 8-week macro coaching & mindful eating group program, join the waitlist)
A facelift for Build More with Julia including a GYM-BASED option
A PODCAST!! YES, I AM DOING IT. And I just can’t wait (reply and let me know what topics I should cover)
What else do you want to see from Eat More with Julia this year? How can I serve you better?
